Obituary For Anna L. McMaster

Peabody - Anna Lidia McMaster, age 89, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 with loved ones by her side. She was the beloved wife of Thomas H. McMaster with whom she spent 63 years of marriage.

Anna was born in St. Caterina, Sicily on February 8, 1934 and emigrated to this country with the late Gaetano and Mary Nicosia Seminatore. She attended St. Mary’s High School of Lynn and was in the first graduating class of the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing. While working at the Brighton Marine Hospital, Anna met the love of her life. She also worked at Lynn and Union Hospital in Lynn, MA.

Anna loved to cook for her family and friends. She doted over her grandchildren and many pets and grandpets over the years. She loved to play scrabble, puzzles, and word games in her spare time in the company of family. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Adelaide’s Church in Peabody, MA.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Mary McMaster and her husband, Edward Abel of Monrovia, MD, Susan McMaster of Ashburnham, MA, Christopher McMaster and his wife, Milarosa McMaster of Merrimack, NH, and Laurie McMaster of Peabody, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Edward, Thomas, Caroline, and Madeline Abel of MD. She is also survived by her sister, Matilda Lewis of Hyde Park and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Gregory McMaster, her sister, Theresa Birmingham of Lynn, Mass and brother, Salvatore Seminatore of FL.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody on Saturday, October 14th at 9:00 a.m. to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial services will be private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s name may be made to Haiti’s Food to the Poor relief effort at Foodforthepoor.org.
