Obituary For Arthur "Archie" Chin

Billerica – Arthur “Archie” Chin 84, formerly of Peabody, beloved husband of Judy (Mah) Chin, died Monday, October 23, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Canton, China, he was the son of the late Yin Din Chin and Jean (Mah) Chin. He emigrated to the United States in 1946, settling in Peabody. He was graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1958 where he served as the class treasurer and was captain of the Peabody High golf team.

Mr. Chin had owned and operated Chin’s Restaurant in Derry, NH for over twenty years, until the time of his retirement. Prior to that, he had worked as an electrical engineer at Monsanto in Everett, GTE Labs in Waltham and Osram Sylvania in Danvers.

A resident of Billerica for the past fifty five years, Archie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Stearns and her husband, Jeff of Boxford and Joanne Toscano and her husband, Jack of Salem, NH, one son, Brian Chin and his wife, Edith (Vautour) Chin of Dracut, eight grandchildren, Christina Mason, Amanda Chin, Jessica Chin, Rebecca Chin, Anthony Toscano, Jack Toscano Jr., Dominick Toscano and Emily Stearns, two sisters, Annette Robillard and Anna Woo and her husband, Dave all of Peabody, a brother, Alan Chin and his wife, Mee of Danvers. He was also the brother-in-law of the late Rick Robillard.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
