David (Dave) Charles Moody, 86, of Peabody passed with love and care on Saturday, December 16th at his home. He was the beloved husband of Elaine Sophia (Demitropoulos) Moody with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Charles and Lydia (Coombs) Moody. He was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1955. He lived in Peabody almost his entire life.

Dave worked for many years as an optical engineer. He was very loved by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is described by his sons as unbelievably motivated, hard-working and tireless: “He pushed us to the limits and demanded excellence in both academics and athletics.” His grandchildren remembered “Grampy” as someone who was “sharp, witty, full of stories, knowledgeable and quick to laugh.” His wife would always talk about how much he wanted the absolute best for his loved ones while also sometimes being a “pain in the ass :)”

There will not be a wake or funeral at this time; instead, there will be a small private celebration of life in the spring. Rest in peace with your wife and family, Dad/Grampy. We love you and will miss you tremendously.
