Peabody – David Sumner Pierce 96, beloved husband of the late Priscilla M. (Washburn) Pierce, died Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Archer L. and Lucy (Brown) Pierce. He was raised and educated in Peabody and earned a degree in agriculture from the Essex Agricultural and Technical School in Danvers.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy.

A lifelong resident of Peabody, he was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him are four daughters, Linda O’Connor of Peabody, Carol Hutchinson of Beverly, Debra Ford and her husband, Victor of Florida and Laurie Bourque of CT, two sons, Glen Pierce and his wife, Diane of Londonderry, NH and James Pierce and his wife, Janet of Gloucester, nine grandchildren, Tracey, Tonya, Brianna, Kelsey, Melissa, Lily, Katie, Allen, and Paul, Jr, and is also survived by his six great grandchildren, Ben, Emma, Caitlin, Adam, Caleb and Keira. He was also the father of the late John Pierce and Judith Pierce, grandfather of the late Stephen and brother of the late Richard Pierce.
