Obituary For Dionysios Moutsoulas

Peabody - Dionysios Moutsoulas, 101, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of the late Nicoleta Moutsoulas with whom he shared over 62 years of marriage until her passing in 2012. Born in Poliani, Greece, he was the son of Stavros and Chrisothemi (Christopoulos) Moutsoulas. He immigrated with his family to the United States and has been a resident of Peabody for the past 56 years. He was a devoted member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody.

Dionysios lived a full and rich life until his last day. He was always on-the-go with gardening, trips to Greece to see family and friends, time at the mall with his coffee group, and stops at yard sales to find treasures. He loved to share the stories of his life, the details of which would always captivate anyone who listened. His culinary skills were exceptional, especially during the holidays. Dionysios was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather (“Big Pappou”) and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. The beautiful memories he has created throughout his lifetime will forever be eternal.

He is survived by three daughters: Eva & her husband Petros Sofronas of Peabody, MA, Chrisoula & her husband Christos Krikas of Kalamata, Greece and Maria and her late husband Panagiotis Skiadopoulos of Kalamata, Greece; six grandchildren: Kostas & his wife Kimberly Sofronas of Middleton, MA, Angeliki Sofronas of London, England, Nikitas & his wife Diane Krikas, Aggelika & her husband Haris Houndis, Leo Skiadopoulos, and Evdokia Skiadopoulos all of Kalamata, Greece; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
