Obituary For Dorothy C. Tulchinsky

Dorothy C. Tulchinsky, 99, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Beverly Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Tulchinsky. She was born in Boston, MA on October 24, 1924 and was the cherished daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Siciliano) Pilato.

Dorothy grew up working at her parents restaurant, Dotty’s Dinner, with her sister Rosemarie. As a young woman, she worked at the Charlestown Navy Yard during WWII as a secretary. After the war ended she became a licensed cosmetologist and a real estate broker. She was also the owner of a woman’s apparel store in Somerville called Sly and Foxy. Dorothy enjoyed spending time and making memories with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Stuart Tulchinsky and his wife Cathie of Laconia, NH and Gary Tulchinsky of Sandown, NH; her grandchildren, Sarah Tulchinsky of Londonderry, NH, Jamie Marston of Epping, NH, Tyler Tulchinsky of Epping, NH, Amanda Ashford of Manchester, NH, Joshua Tulchinsky of Newton, NH and Brandon Tulchinsky of Epping, NH; her great-grandchildren, Chloe and Jayden Ashford, Jonah Tulchinsky, Mackenzie and Page Marston, Kashlyn and Khari Tulchinsky, and Reese, Levi and June Tulchinsky; her sisters, Gloria Babineau of St. Petersburg, FL, Barbara Coletti of Kenai, AK, and Joanne Botolino of Ogunquit, ME; her niece, Deborah Scarborough of Lynnfield, MA; and her grand nephews Eric Scarborough of Woburn, MA, Ryan Scarborough of Seattle, WA, and Dana Scarborough of San Diego, CA.

Sadly, in addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Tulchinsky; and her sisters, Irene Murphy and Rosemarie Sforza.

At the family’s request her services were private.

    I'm saddened with you all that you have lost your mother, grandmother, sister, anunt and friend. My aunt Dorothy will be remembered for a cheery smile and a beautiful woman whom I admired. My last memory of her is at my brother Victor and Karen's wedding in 2007, still showing her best self! Diane Occhialini Hija

    I have fond childhood memories of all my aunts. Each one of them fun, happy and beautiful. Dorothy was often the leader of the pack. Godspeed to her next adventure.

    I'm so sorry for you loss. Dorothy was not only a beautiful lady but a smart, sassy & wonderful classy lady. I remember we shared not only a job together but a friendship. We enjoyed many dinners & a ton of laughs. I will miss her. I loved her she was amazing. May she Rest In Peace.
