Edward J. Cencarik, 74, of Peabody, died Tuesday morning surrounded by his family at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital following an extended illness. He was the devoted husband of Debra Sears- Cencarik with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Kirlik) Cencarik. He was raised and educated in Montreal. He has lived in Peabody for past two years and previously Salem, Massachusetts and The Woodlands, Texas.

Edward was a Ground Operations Supervisor for United Airlines at Boston Logan and Houston Intercontinental Airport for over 41 years before retiring 9 years ago.

Besides his loving wife, Edward is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Stefan Edward Cencarik and Jennifer Kirby-Cencarik of Danvers, his sister, Milka “Millie” Heath and her husband John Heath of Southern Pines, NC and by his in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, the Sears Family and by many dear friends and colleagues.

Following cremation, gathering for a Memorial Funeral Service will be on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by his service at 5:00 PM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
