Obituary For Eugene A. Lamothe

Peabody – Eugene A. “Gene” Lamothe 93, beloved husband of the late Cecile (LeTourneau) Lamothe, died Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness.

Born and raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Henry and Blanche (Boudreau) Lamothe. He was a graduate of St. Clement High School in Medford.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.

Mr. Lamothe had been employed for many years by NAPA Auto Parts until the time of his retirement.

A resident of Peabody for the past sixty-five years, Gene enjoyed participating at the Peabody Senior Center. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving him are two sisters, Janet Cantelli of Waterford, CT and Yvonne Ross of Somerville, a brother, Alfred Lamothe and his wife, Jeannette of Wilmington as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Blanche McClellan and her husband, James, Joanne Rocchetti and her husband, Enrico, Elaine Coyle, Eleanor Lust and her husband, Robert, Ronald Lamothe and Henry Lamothe and brother-in-law of the late Joseph Cantelli and Thomas Ross.

ARRANGEMENTS: A visiting hour will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
