Obituary For Ferdinand "Fred" C. Patturelli

Peabody – Ferdinand “Fred” C. Patturelli, 71, of Peabody, died on Tuesday August 9, 2022, after a brief illness, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kristin Shattuck with whom he recently married.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Ferdinand J. and Sara (Vigliotti) Patturelli. Fred was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1969.

At a young age, Fred began working for his family business, Wyoma Square Mobil in Lynn, which he eventually owned and operated for over 25 years. He worked at the Boston Marriott Peabody for the past 16 years. He was a cherished co-worker and will be deeply missed by his Marriott Family.

Fred enjoyed anything outdoors. He loved gardening and traveling to Aruba. He also enjoyed spending time at his home away from home in Twin Mountain, NH. Fred had a great love for animals, especially his two dogs, Stella and Sofie. Above all, family was most important, and he cherished the time he spent with them. One of his greatest joys was the time spent with his only granddaughter, Cara. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and co-worker, who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Brad Patturelli and his wife Cindy of Lynn, Alicia DeLegge and her husband Kyle of Peabody, and Carla (Patturelli) Donnatelli of Peabody; his only granddaughter, Cara Zayac; his sister, Susan Patturelli of Peabody, and his nephew Scott Patturelli of Peabody. He is also survived by his ex-wife of many years, Constance Patturelli.

We have known Fred for a very long time. We had something very special in common - our children got married. A blessed occasion. Fred nurtured a wonderful son who has been a hard working, loving & compassionate husband . . . Fred, I truly thank you for that.

I had the privilege to work with Fred at the Marriott. We both graduated high school in 1969 and our granddaughter's were very close in age. I will miss his positivity, the many conversations we had over the years and the help he was always willing to provide. Rest In peace my friend.

I can't honestly remember the last time I would have seen Freddy but now thinking back to those years what a absolute gift it was to have shared my childhood with him and his family. The baseball cards, the bootleg video store run out of the living room, the cars and the camp ground. Truly a gift that he shared all that with me and I'll always remember that. To the family: nothing will help with the pain but maybe knowing what a impact he had on people might brighten up things a bit. With Love. Pat Mills
