Fernando M Morais, 83, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Thursday October 19, 2023, at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody. He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Ouellette) Morais with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage.

Born in Guiaes, Portugal, on October 4, 1940, he was the son of the late Fabio and Rosa (Monteiro) Morais. He was raised in Portugal and immigrated with his family in 1966 and has been a resident of Peabody for the past 57 years.

Fernando worked at Sylvania as a forklift driver in the warehouse for years before retiring years ago.

Besides his loving wife of 55 years, Fernando is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Michelle Morais of Millville and Anthony and Amy Morais of Danvers, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Manuel and Valerie Morais of Hudson, NH, Jose and Sally Morais of Manchester, NH, Ed and Diane Morais of Charlotte, NC, and Antonio Morais of Mint Hill, NC, his sister and brother-in-law, Lurdes and Bernardo Figueiredo of Mint Hill, NC, and also by his beloved two grandchildren, Julian and Marcus Morais, his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Maureen Ouellette and Marianne Ouellette, his three special nieces, Shane, Audrey, and Abrianna Ouellette, his Godchildren, George Figueiredo, David Morais, and Sonia Pires and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by Robert Zelia and Brandon Ouellette.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday October 22 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday October 23, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to either the Holy Ghost Society, 20 Howley St, Peabody or Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave, Peabody, MA 01960.
