Frank Edward Collins Jr., 88, of Saugus, formerly of East Boston and Chelsea, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sarah (Lupo) Collins with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.

He was born in Chelsea, MA on December 15, 1934 and was the cherished son of the late Lillian (Gilbert) and Frank Edward Collins Sr.

Frank grew up in Chelsea and enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 19 serving in the Korean War. After he was discharged from the Air Force, he went to work for Market Forge where he retired after 55 years. In his spare time, he loved to travel with his family and build things with Lego’s. Frank enjoyed going to the Wonderland Dog Track, scratching lottery tickets, playing the daily number, bowling and sitting in his backyard playing his guitar and singing.

in addition to his wife Sarah, Frank is survived by his daughters, Julie Shepard and her husband Stephen of Saugus, Sarah DeRocher and her partner James of Salisbury, Donna Thompson and her husband William of Plymouth, Dawn Collins of Lynn, Paula McAleer and her husband Charles of Lynn and Susan Squillacioti of Haverhill; his sons, Joseph Falzone and his wife Lyn of NH and Frank E. Collins III and his wife Victoria of Billerica; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Lisa, Jordan, Nathiel, Ashley, Alissa, Frank, Michael, Morgan and Jamie; his great grandchildren, Jasmine, Kimberly, Zoey, Aaliyah, Lillian and Adeline; his sister Norma Gilford of NC; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two sons, Michael and Brian Collins.

Visiting hours will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 10AM to 12PM followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 12PM. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. At the family’s request please OMIT flowers.
