Peabody – James J. Silva 74, died peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody.

Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late James J. and Mildred F. (Picanso) Silva. He received his education from St. Thomas elementary school in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School.

Mr. Silva had been employed for many years as a manager in the finance industry until the time of his retirement.

A lifelong resident of Peabody, Mr. Silva was a member of the Blue Angels Drum Corps and was a longtime member of the Lions Club of Danvers. He was a longtime follower of the Boston professional sports team and enjoyed his Boston Celtics season tickets in the 1980’s. He was a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a sister, Mary E. Lambert and her husband, Robert of Peabody, a brother, Robert F. Silva and his wife, Cathy of Idaho, four nephews, Rob Lambert and his wife, Aileen of Burlington, MA, Michael Lambert and his wife, Lisa of Peabody, Robert Silva Jr. and Jason Silva, both of Idaho, a niece, Colleen Silva of Virginia, his great nieces and nephews Taygen, Kendyl, Marley, Jason, Leo and Eliza, his cousins, Donald Rose and his companion, Marjorie, Richard Rose and his wife, Diane, Donald Rose Jr. and Scott Rose. Predeceased by his long companion Lois White and his cousin Richard Rose Sr. and many more close family members and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: A visiting hour will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, December 8, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
