Obituary For Janet M Connors

Janet (Cormier) Connors of West Peabody, died peacefully at her home following a short illness on December 26, 2023 surrounded in love.

Janet was born in Lynn on January 27, 1931. Janet was the wife of the late James E. Connors (“Big Jim”). Janet moved to Peabody after marrying Big Jim and raised 7 children there. She was the mother of James Connors, Jayne (and her husband Jerry) Chlopek, Judy (and her husband David) Romano, Joanne (and her husband Michael) Felt, Patrick Connors (and his forever friend Dina), Joseph Connors and the late John Connors. She leaves behind her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

First and foremost Janet loved her husband and her family. She was the “mother” of Connors Road, and would frequently watch, vacation and day trip with her 32 nieces and nephews from Connors Road. Janet was deeply religious in her Roman Catholic faith and frequently worked and studied at St. Adelaide’s parish.

Janet was a surrogate mother to anyone who needed her and loved every living thing with all her heart.

Janet loved to travel and was always up for a trip to the beach, North Conway, Maine, Canada or whatever place was suggested. She would load her car with her kids and whichever nieces or nephews wanted to go and whoever could fit in the car. Family first was a true way to describe Janet.

Her funeral will be on Thursday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Adelaide's Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.

Please omit flowers. Instead, please make a donation to your charity of choice in Janet’s memory.

My Dear Aunt Janet lived a life of faith, hope, and love. My early years have vivid impressions of Aunt Janet. She practiced being in the present moment, listening and caring. Her Easy- Going manner set the tone for comfort and acceptance for whoever was in front of her. She made you feel heard. She loved much and she suffered much. Through it all never lost that child like curiosity that kept her young. I am grateful to be counted in the number of cousins (29) on Connors Road who she shared life with. So many vivid memories of love and laughter come to mind. Here's one of my favorites, she would gather cousins around the old stand up piano in her basement, we all joined in singing " Shine On Harvest Moon " as she played on. Those were sweet times and we are so grateful Aunt Janet. Lovingly, Kathy Murdoch Newcomb

It was my pleasure and honor to know you and be part of your family. A beautiful, strong woman who made me appreciate what being a mother meant. I know right now you are so proud of Patrick, who literally "Honored Thy Mother and Father" in it's true sense. He didn't go above and beyond according to him; he did what was in his heart and now you see even though I know you already knew it when he was taking care of you. Give my mum a kiss and I will see you in paradise in later years. All my love, Dina
