Joan T. (Klus) Unhao of Peabody, MA, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Victor Unhao with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Salem, MA she was the cherished daughter of the late Jennie (Lojko) Klus and the late John Klus. She was raised in Salem, MA and graduated from Salem High School. She was proud of her polish heritage and the community of the Salem Derby Street Area.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed at the Law Firm of Pearl, McNiff, Crean, Cook and Sheehan. Prior to that she was employed by United Shoe in Beverly. She loved to travel, especially to her favorite place, Aruba.

In addition to her husband, Victor, Joan is survived by her son, Steven Unhao; her daughter, Donna Foden and her husband Bob; her grandchildren, Ally, Lindsay and Scott, who were her greatest joy; her sister-in-law, Lori Coito; her niece, Sue Hughes; and her nephew, Chris Lohring.

Sadly, in addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Dolores Lohring.

She will always be remembered as the nicest person anyone could ever meet. She will be deeply missed by all.

Her funeral will be held from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 9AM before processing to St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Peabody for her Funeral Mass at 10AM. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4PM to 7PM. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Joan’s memory to Lucky Lemure’s Walk Team, Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
