Obituary For John Newton

John Newton, 57, of Lynn, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Salem Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Roy) Newton with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.

He was born in Lynn on January 7, 1966 and was the cherished son of the late Robert and Patricia (Witham) Newton.

John had a big heart and helped family and friends who were in need of help. He was always smiling even when times were gray. John always had us laughing, it’s who he was. He worked his whole life doing various jobs but as of late he was working as a laborer at a moving company. He was a hard worker and taught so many that knew him what it takes to work hard. With countless stories of him, he showed us what it’s like to be strong and pull through whatever life throws at us. It also showed us that he was tough and never gave up in life.

In addition to his wife, Helen, John is survived by his sons, John Newton Jr. of Lynn and Dan Newton and his wife Jen Morrill of Lynn; his daughters, Crystallee Newton and her fiancé Blendon Salls of Lebanon, NH, Alyssa Newton of Lynn, Katrina Newton of Lynn and Cassy Foss of Beverly; his grandchildren, Gavin, Makenna, Lincoln, Nevaeh, Damon, Xavier and Hailey; his sister, Cheryl Newton of Woburn; his brother, Michael Newton of Lynn; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, James Newton, Robert Newton and Dawn Newton McNulty.
