Obituary For John S. Conklin

Salem – John S. Conklin 60, formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Ipswich, he was the son of the late Norman R. and Judith A. (Kippin) Conklin. He was raised in Peabody and was a graduate of the Peabody Vocational School. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and the Police Explorers.

A family oriented man, John enjoyed arranging cook outs for family and dressing up as Santa Claus for the kids at Christmas time. He loved spending time with his grandchildren when they came up to visit. He also enjoyed old horror and sci-fi movies and has a love for American eagles. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friends who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle A. Clement and her husband, James of Bossier City, LA, three grandchildren, Jordan, Kayli and James Jr., a step-father, Tadeusz Goclawski of Peabody, a brother, Tadeusz Goclawski and his wife, Rachel of Millbury, nieces and nephews, Lily and Krista Goclawski, Kerri Rosado and Josh Scarnegie and his companion, Mary Hersey of Salem.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Community, 32 Ellsworth Rd., (located at and with courtesy by St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church) Peabody, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.     I haven't known John long but he was such a great presence! Always laughing and Joking around. Despite his medical issues, he looked at life with a beautiful smile and didn't seem to be bothered by it! God Bless you John!
