Obituary For Kaite Karanikola

Kaite Karanikola, 87, Peabody, formerly of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Peabody surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Karanikola with whom she spent 35 years of marriage with until his passing in 2002.

She was born in Krimini, Greece on January 2, 1936 and was the cherished daughter of the late Konstantinos and Orthodoxia (Papavizas) Kyratsopoulos.

Kaite worked as a seamstress and enjoyed sewing dresses for herself and others. Whenever possible she was involved with the church and helped in baking and cooking for events. She mostly adored spending time with her grandchildren.

Kaite is survived by her son, Efthimios Karanikolas of Plymouth; her 2 daughters, Eleni Meimaris and her husband Paul of Wilmington and Theodora Psyhogios and her husband Yiannis of Peabody; her grandchildren, Evangelos and Ioannis Karanikolas, Argiro Psyhogios, and Vasilios and Makrina Meimaris; her sisters, Valentina Vlachos of Peabody and Ismini Pashalopoulos and her husband Konstantinos of Greece; her sister in law, Sophia Kyratsopoulos of Greece; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sadly, in addition to her parents and husband, Kaite was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Thomas Kyratsopoulos of Greece; and her sister Ermioni Kyratsopoulos.

Her funeral will be held from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street Peabody on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 9AM followed by a procession to St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church for her Funeral Service at 10AM. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody.
