Obituary For Margery J (Duffy) St. Pierre
Margery (Duffy) St. Pierre, 90 of Salem passed away peacefully at home in Salem on November 24, 2023. Born in Lynn, Ma, the daughter of James Duffy and Selma Kjellgren Duffy, she graduated from St. James High School in Salem. Margie was the consummate matriarch whose family was the center of her universe. While raising her large family in Peabody and later Salem, her home was a warm and inviting gathering place for neighbors and friends of all ages. Margie was easy to be around, had an infectious laugh and enjoyed pranksters. She was a power of example who instinctively knew how to make do in the best and worst of life’s challenges. Margie was also a woman of considerable strength, poise and grace. She was, in a word, “90 pounds of solid granite” and will be terribly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her.
She leaves behind daughters Linda St. Pierre and Susan St. Pierre and husband Richie Thibodeau, sons Larry St. Pierre and wife Dawn and David St. Pierre and wife Christa, and son in law Brian McCarthy. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Justin Anderson, Stacey St. Pierre, Rachel St. Pierre, Ross Phillips, Erin St. Pierre, Erik, Andrew and Matthew and wife Deanna McCarthy and Parker and Sawyer St. Pierre and great-grandchildren, Natalie and Noah Anderson and Maeve McCarthy. She was predeceased by her children, Sharon St. Pierre, Billy St. Pierre and Janice McCarthy, her son in law Richie Lindgren, her sister Barbra and husband Paul Peicott, her brother Bob Duffy and the father of her children, Lawrence “Larry” St. Pierre.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday December 1, 2023, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM followed by Words of Remembrance at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family extends special thanks to Patrick and Cecilia from Care Dimensions and Violet, all of whom were extraordinary and loving caregivers, helping Margie pass away at home at ease and in great comfort.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margie’s name to o Care Dimensions (hospice) 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, Ma 01923.
