Maria Eduarda Craveiro, 78, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 30, 1945, in Tazem, Portugal and was the cherished daughter of Armando Almeida Brito and Maria Do Ceu Lopes Brito.

Eduarda immigrated from Portugal in 1969 to Peabody MA with her family, where they became long term residents. She and her family opened and managed a restaurant, O’Fado Café Restaurant located in downtown Peabody for many years until she retired. During her retirement she continued to do her love of cooking for her friends and family while enjoying her time with her grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Rosa Medeiros; her son, Antonio “Tony” Craveiro; her grandchildren, Luis Baptista, Brandon, Nathan and Cassandra Medeiros, and Antonio and Branae Craveiro; her great-grandchildren, Sebastian, and Ariana Baptista; her brother, Armando Brito; her sisters, Maria Alvira Borges and Maria Ascensao Quaresma; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sadly, in addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Maria Cedalia Brito.

Her funeral will be held from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 9AM followed by a procession to St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4PM to 7PM. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody.
