Peabody – Maria F. (Pereira) Pais 87, beloved wife of the late Americo Pais, died Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Care One Health Care Center in Peabody following a brief illness.

Born and raised in Graciosa, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Cecilia (Lima) Pereira. She emigrated to the United States on April 4, 1972, settling in Peabody where she has since resided.

Mrs. Pais had been employed for many years at Siemens Medical in Danvers until the time of her retirement in 1999.

A longtime resident of Peabody, she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody and a member of the Holy Ghost Society. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her are four daughters, Maria Livramento and her husband, Jose Aguiar of Graciosa, Azores, Valentina Vasconcelos and her husband, Joao of Peabody, Marianna Pais of Peabody and Lucia Ferreira of Danvers, one son, Americo Pais and his wife, Sandra of Peabody, nine grandchildren, Eulalia, Adriano, Anna, Luis, Kyle, Andrew, Riley, Aidan and Justin and three great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Filomena Silva.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody, Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held at the Conway Cahill=Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, prior to the Mass on Tuesday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
