I remember going out to lunch with Marie and my sister Lorraine, at the Clam Box, then coffee at DD. Many memories of just chatting with her. She helped me out early on, and helped so many others. Hugs to the family. She will be missed

Marie was my first and only Mother-In-Law. I met her 43 years ago at Food Stop in West Peabody across from the fire station. As any interested mother looking to meet the girl currently dating her son Gary, she purchased a gallon of milk. I rang her up at the counter and that is where we had our first glance. From that day I fell in love with Marie, of course her son Gary along with each and every family member. I admired Marie for her quick wit and just the fact that she had 7 children, her infectious laugh when something seriously funny was discussed under that auburn chandelier above her kitchen table. I've shared a lot with this family and I was lucky to share a great relationship with Marie. Thank you for loving me all those years, I will always love you. ~ Carla Michelle Gordon

Many moons ago, when I first came into AA, I was weak, defeated, beaten and broken. I dared to raise my hand in a meeting, and asked for help. Someone celebrating an anniversary and chairing the meeting told me to stop talking. I felt so stupid and ashamed. I wanted to just leave.. weak, beaten and broken, but I stayed. After the meeting, Marie took me by the hand, and sat with me for a while, and let me talk. She saved my life that day.... I was a stranger to her, and she saved me.
