Peabody – Maryanne F. (Martin) Sirois 62, beloved wife of James Sirois, died Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Devereaux Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marblehead.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Bernard L. and Carlene (Witham) Martin. She received her education in the Peabody school system and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1979. She also attended Merrimack College and Salem State College.

Mrs. Sirois had been employed for over twenty years as a librarian at the children’s library at the George Peabody Library in Peabody until the time of her retirement due to her illness. Prior to that she had worked for twenty years at Star Market in Swampscott.

A resident of Peabody for most of her life, Maryanne was an avid sports fan who coached little league in Peabody and was an avid softball player. She was a fan of Boston sports as well, especially the Red Sox and Bruins. She also had a great love for cats and cared for her many cats over the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband with whom she shared thirty nine years of marriage, she is survived by three daughters, Allison Sirois of Peabody, Sarah Sirois and her partner, Joe Peters of Salem and Paige (Sirois) Morrison and her husband, Matthew of Beverly, two grandchildren, Wednesday “Winnie” Renee Sirois and Finn Sirois-Wiggins, several nieces and nephews including, Michael Martin and his wife, Maureen of Peabody and their children, Kristin, Michael and Amanda and Mallory Martin and Shelby Martin. She was also the sister of the late Michael and Bernard Martin.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
