Lynn – Richard R. Kempton 75, beloved husband of Nancy A. (Murray) Kempton, died Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Rollins and Dorothy (Chafe) Kempton. He attended the Lynn public school system and graduated from the Lynn Vocational Technical High School.

Mr. Kempton had been employed for forty-six years as an electrician for the General Electric Company in Lynn until the time of his retirement.

A lifelong resident of Lynn, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, with whom he shared forty years of marriage, he is survived by three daughters, Christine Golemme and her husband, Brian of Taunton, Jennifer Minor of Southbridge and Karen Leonard and her husband, Christopher of Peabody, one son, Richard Kempton of Lynn, twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters, Donna Jean Dempsey of Amesbury and Dorothy Farnsworth of Port Saint Lucy, FL, two brothers, Rollins Kempton and his wife, Marjorie of Boxford and Allen Kempton of FL and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Diane McQuade, Donald Kempton, Robert Kempton and David Kempton.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
