Obituary For Robert "Bobby" W. O'Connell

Peabody – Robert “Bobby” W. O’Connell, 60, loving partner of twenty years to Martina Doucette, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Louise A. (Pendlebury) O’Connell. Grandson of the late Burt Pendlebury and Dorothy (Peterson) Pendlebury. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1981.

Mr. O’Connell owned and operated Oil Heat Specialists of Peabody for over thirty years. He was well known in the industry as one of the best in the business! He loved his family and friends fiercely and had the biggest heart of gold. He was always the life of the party and loved to make people laugh. He lit up a room when he entered and made his presence known in such a great big way. If you were ever in need of something that he couldn't do himself for you, he would say "I gotta guy!" and make it happen. One of his favorite quotes was "Work hard-Play hard." And that he did. His love of life, laughter and his generous spirit will be sorely missed by his loving family and friends who loved him fiercely right back.

In addition to his loving partner, he is survived by three daughters, Taylor Estrella and her husband Junior of Fort Lewis, WA, Shaina O’Connell of Peabody and Madeline O'Connell and her husband, Rafael Bonilla of Peabody, two step-children, Tatiana Doucette and her partner, Edward Barrasso of Lynn and Devin Doucette of Lynn. Four grandchildren; Bella and Noah Estrella, Baby twins Estrella on the way due in March, a sister, Kathleen A. (O'Connell) McDonald of Atkinson, NH, a brother, Charles R. O’Connell and his wife, Kathy (McGrath) of Salem MA, He was also the brother of the late Richard “Fluffy” O’Connell. In addition, he had one niece; Amy McDonald of Atkinson NH, three nephews; Kyle O'Connell of Plaistow NH, Ryan O'Connell and Matthew O'Connell of Salem MA; his former wife and mother to his daughters, Susan O'Connell of Peabody and his beloved dogs; Gigi, Brady & Tito.
