Rose Marie (Penna) Solano, 97, of Peabody and formerly of Revere and Boston, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Wednesday February 21, 2024, following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Solano.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Mary (Saia) Penna. She was raised and educated in the West End of Boston and was a graduate of Girls High School, class of 1943.

Rose was a bookkeeper for many years in the healthcare industry before retiring years ago. She was an avid sewer, loved knitting and working in her garden and tending to her flowers. She had a strong faith and was devoted to the catholic church while living in Boston, Revere, and Peabody.

Rose is survived by her devoted four children, Stephen and his wife Louise Solano of Rowley, Edward Solano of Webster, NH, Christine and her husband Dale Gallaher of Pelham, NH and Carla and her husband Daniel Archibald of Peabody, her beloved 8 grandchildren, Stephanie Solano, Kim Camuso, Lori Lepine, Gina Fernandez, Danielle Archibald, Justin Archibald, Matthew Solano, and Molly Solano, her 8 great grandchildren, Riley Solano, Jovan Quiles, Angelo Pascoal, Antonio and Dante Fernandez, Lincoln and Lucas Camuso, and Owen Lepine. She was predeceased by her four brothers, Domenic, Domenic, Anthony and Richard Penna and by her grandson, Nicholas Solano.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday February 28, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Rowley Cemetery, Rowley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Boston Children’s Hospital, at www.childrenshospital.org
