Obituary For Sandra L Feeney

Sandra L (Innis) Feeney, 81, of South Peabody and formerly of Beverly, died peacefully Monday morning after she bravely faced the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease, at the Bear Mountain Nursing Home in Reading. She was the devoted wife of the late Kenneth Feeney with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura (Weldon) Innis. She was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1960.

Sandra worked at Peck and Peck, a clothing store in Peabody across from the former Warren Five Cents Savings Bank where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Feeney and upon their marriage in 1961, she moved to South Peabody where she has resided for the past 62 years.

She volunteered for many years for My Brothers Table and delivered food and other necessities for many shut-ins in Peabody and North Shore area.

Sandra loved traveling throughout the country and the world, as Haiti and Israel were her favorite destinations among others including Portugal, Greece, Ireland and Florence Italy. She enjoyed the distinct cultures, foods, and the people there. She loved the water, whether being in her backyard pool entertaining her family and many friends or enjoying a day at the beach with them as well. Sandra was always active and never sat still, she would always be doing something for someone! Her home was always an open house for friends, family and extended families. Everyone was welcomed at 16 Bowen at any time of the day and there would be soup, spaghetti sauce or brownies going! She will be dearly missed by all.

Chris, Sean, and Sue, I am thinking of all of you. I know your hearts are breaking. I also know she is finally free and home. Can you even imagine her reunion? She might have even asked my dad, "What are you doing here?" Know that you are all loved by many. I will see you all soon. Debbie, Cory, and Ashley

Chris, Sean, and Sue, your mother was very special to me throughout our lives. She was brave enough to come visit us when we were posted to Port au Prince Haiti and loved the time she spent there. She was so thoughtful of others with a mission of love to all. When she and Linda came to visit Janelle and me in South Carolina it was just as she was beginning to show signs of this horrible disease. I will never forget the wonderful times together and how supportive of me she was throughout my career. We will miss her forever. She is now on the dance floor of Heaven reunited with Ken, her first and only love. Saint Francis of Assisi said ''all the darkness in the world cannot extinguish of a single candle.'' Sandra was that light for all of us. May she rest in peace.

Sue, You are a special light to everyone who knows you, and I'm certain that comes from your Mom. The love that emanates from you came from her and your Dad. Always remember how special you are to her. The Lord ihas opened His open arms to welcome her into Heaven with your Dad. Please know that you and your family are in my heart and prayers. And may the Holy Spirit wrap His loving arms around you to comfort you. I'll be hugging you , too. With love and prayers, Jeanie and Peter Skelly
